Loyalty by Bethany-Kris
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book by this author I have read. Although this is a standalone, I feel like I may have understood the secondary characters and family dynamic a bit more if I had read the series that this book was a spin-off from (which I now have those on my TBR). This is the first book of a duet but it does not end in a huge cliffhanger. However, it does leave you wondering what will happen in the next. I applaud the author for making mental disorders a big (at least to me a big) focus in the book. The love story was amazing. The main characters, John and Siena, were very well developed through the story. We were able to hear their story from both POV rather than just one’s. I prefer this method of writing when both POVs are important (which to me is almost every book). I’ve never really read many mafia stories although I have been fascinated with it since I was a teenager (I think it’s because of my Italian bloodline?) but Bethany-Kris has definitely changed that. I can’t wait to read all of her previous titles as well as her future ones!
{I technically give this book a 4.5 star rating}
