OMG! This is my favorite book of 2018 up to this point. The story is unique (to me, at least). Our main characters meet when our heroine, Addison, drives the car that takes our jilted at the altar hero, Elijah, away from his disastrous wedding. The relationship between Addison and Elijah is fabulous! I love their progression from “who are you?” to friends to lovers. And the love scenes? I haven’t read love scenes in this way in a long time, if ever. The dirty talking heroine is something I haven’t found many authors doing. In my opinion, this is an alpha male + alpha female story and I love it! Elijah and Addison both are also on a self-discovery path through this book. Elijah discovers he is much more than the person his parents and society have molded him to be. Addison discovers that she is very different from her mother. It takes being jilted at the altar and an unlikely friendship for these two to realize who they are as people. And I, for one, am very curious about Naomi’s (aka the runaway bride) missing months away from Charleston ;)
