Book Blitz {+ Giveaway}: His Muse by Kemmie Michaels

Synopsis:
On vacation in the tropical paradise of St. Lucia...
Martin and Abby never intended to meet anyone while they were away. Circumstance, however, pushes them together in spite of their expectations. With an entire vacation week with nothing to do but spend time together, Martin and Abby forge a connection unlike anything either had felt before. With Abby’s conservative nature and Martin’s refusal to be the player he had once been, the couple keeps themselves physically apart...until they can’t.
They collide into a friction that sparks a blazing need to stay together. Keeping the heat alive from opposite ends of the country, though, may prove too difficult. Distance and circumstance become very ugly words in this couple’s vocabulary.

Excerpt:
“Do I get to see what’s under your robe?” He grinned wickedly as he reached for the belt.
She giggled and turned away. “Not yet! I have to finish my wine first. You should have thought of that before you poured me a glass,” she said laughing wickedly at the look on his face.
Martin groaned and dropped his head back on the couch, but then he got an ornery look on his face. He sat up and guzzled the last of his wine. He took her glass from her and tipped back the remainder of hers, too, sounding a refreshed “ahh” through his smile.
“Hey!” she said, laughing with him.
“Ok. Wine’s not an issue,” he grinned at her. “Show me.”
Still laughing a bit, she stood up and walked across the room from him. He stayed in his spot on the couch and waited for her to drop the robe. Like the seductress that she was, she stood there for a long moment, her makeup subtle-sexy and her beautiful auburn hair in a messy, wavy up-sweep.
She did nothing but look at him with heated eyes. She too-slowly reached for the belt and then stopped. She toyed with the ends of the terry-cloth rope that held the fabric closed around her.
“You know you’re killing me over here, right?” he asked, loving her playful side.
“Well, we can’t have that,” she said, pulling the belt loose but leaving the robe firmly closed around her body. “Are you sure you’re ready for this?”
“I did mention the death part, right?” he said, laughing. “I’m more than ready, Abby. Show me.”
“Can’t say I didn’t warn you…” and with that, she opened the robe and let it fall to the floor. Martin gaped at the sight in front of him. Never in his life, ever, had he seen anything so unbelievably sexy as what he saw in front of him in that moment. He must have inadvertently made a deal with the devil in order to have that in the room with him. She was absolutely, sinfully provocative.
His eyes raked down her body, pausing at every sexy, delicious curve. She wore a deep emerald corset with wickedly erotic black lace trim. The bodice hugged her ribs tightly and tucked her already tiny waist into a perfect hourglass center. The satin flared back out to accent her hips in a way that made him want to worship at her feet.
Then, as if that weren’t enough, the bottom rim of ribbon and lace held black garters that traced sexy lines down to black thigh-highs. Those alluring sheer hose hugged her legs with a lace border that nearly danced around the soft, creamy skin of her thighs. His eyes traveled back up to rest on her full breasts straining against the satin laced up to a bow between them.
The exaggerated curves were even more accented by a wisp of hair that waved down her neck and nestled in her substantial cleavage. He noticed one last detail around her hips. A scant strip of lace served as panties. She obviously put those on over the garters. He could strip them off and leave her in the corset and thigh-highs if he wanted to.
Oh. Sweet. God. He wanted to.
“Damn…” was the only word he could think to say as he walked the length of the room in about four long strides. His hands gripped around her ribs and he could feel the heat of their skin reacting through the satin and ribbings. He jerked her forward that way, her whole body following the constraints of the corset. She fell into him hard and let her hands rest at his chest.
He was no longer laughing with her playfully. Now he was so sexed-out he was ready to throw her down and take her hard. She looked at him with wide, expecting eyes, wanting the same thing. He hoped she was expecting the animal side of him, because that’s exactly where she took him the minute she dropped her robe.
He grabbed her by the hair as he searched her mouth with his desperate tongue. His other hand gripped at her back, bottom and shoulder with the full strength of his desire. She was the only woman to evoke this kind of passion from deep within, and he couldn’t turn it off. He jerked her hair back again to give himself access to her neck.
Author Bio:
I love a good love story. I reread the first kiss a few times before I read on...even in my own books. That moment gets me every time no matter how often I revisit that beautiful connection. I dive into every story to the point where I have so many fictional boyfriends that I can't keep track of them all.
In the world of reality, I have a loving and tolerant husband who smiles and rolls his eyes every time I tell him about my latest fictional love affair. I have two autistic pre-teen boys who keep me on my toes. I have a psychotic Golden Retriever (I was told those don't exist...) and a cat that rules our house. I used to be the queen. Our regal feline has usurped my throne and demoted me to Prime Minister.
I studied English/Journalism at Miami University in Ohio, have a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Dayton and I spent five years teaching even more personality-rich pre-teens. For some sick reason, I actually enjoyed teaching junior high. Now as a stay-at-home mom, I'm clinging to that status by throwing my hat in the author's ring and hoping I get to keep it there.

♥ Meet the Author
Isabella Rae has been writing for over 10 years but never published because she was discouraged by the publishing process. Recently a friend of hers released a book through self-publishing and inspired Isabella to release her first book. When Isabella is not writing she is busy being a single mom to 2 beautiful girls, and works as a baker, and server at a local restaurant.
Isabella was born in Peachtree City, Georgia, a suburb south of Atlanta, where she still resides. Her love of reading inspired her to move into writing. She uses personal experiences with baking and life in general to inspire her work. As a unique touch to each of the books in her first series, she has chosen to include personal recipes to give it a personal touch.
Isabella is active on social media sites Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads and Pinterest.

 ♥ Author Interview
What was your inspiration for the Atlanta Affair series? Isabella: Well, I live just south of Atlanta, so for me, that was an obvious setting. Honestly my characters were the inspiration. All three main friends (Victoria, Sage, and Nick) are all inspired by people in my life. I created all the characters first and then let them create the stories. What is your writing inspiration? Isabella: I guess you could say that my daughters are the reason I write. I’m trying to make a better life for them. As far as for the books themselves I use personalities I encounter as well as fantasies to inspire me. How did you become a writer? Isabella: I actually started writing in High School. Over the years I started several different stories, but always put them down and forgot about them. I thought I would never be able to get them published so I didn’t make them a priority. Recently I saw that Harper Sloan had released Axel. I went to high school with Harper and seeing her with a book out, inspired me to try again. She actually helped me a lot during this whole process. What words of wisdom would you give to those wanting to get into writing or just starting out? Isabella: Don’t be afraid to ask for help. The indie author community is amazingly supportive. I still have so much to learn, but they are all so willing to help. I’m proud to be included in such an amazing group of people. Who is your favorite character from your book? Isabella: I honestly don’t know if I can answer that. I like all of them for different things. I love that Leland is willing to do what’s necessary to get what he wants. I love that Victoria is so self-aware. I really enjoy the friendship between Victoria and Sage, they fit together so well. Who is your favorite author? Isabella: That’s a three way tie between Janet Evanovich, Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb, and Iris Johansen Do you have a genre that you want to get into next? Isabella: I’m pretty happy with the genre I am in now, but if I ever ventured into another one it would have to romantic suspense. Do you plan to start a new book or series (anything outside of your current work)? Isabella: Of course I plane to write more after my Atlanta Affair Series, but right now I am focused on “A Wedding Affair” the third book in my series, which will be Nick and Piper’s story. There will be a total of five books in the series. What is your favorite color? Isabella: Turquoise What is your favorite food? Isabella: Potaotes What would you die without? Isabella: My daughters What is your favorite city you like to visit? Isabella: Out of the places I have been, probably New York What place do you dream to visit? Isabella: Ireland, I traced my family back to County Donegal Ireland and would love to go there. What do you do outside of writing? Isabella: I am a single mom, a server, and a baker. What are you currently working on? Isabella: “A Wedding Affair” and plans for an untitled stand alone novel. What’s your favorite book? Isabella: Wow, I don’t have an answer for this one. My favorite book always changes. I would say that whenever the new Janet Evanovich book comes out, I buy it! Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Isabella: In 10 years I hope to be writing still without having to worry about working a day job. I know most indie authors don’t get that luxury, but I can dream! What is your favorite guilty pleasure? Isabella: Probably reality tv, I can’t get enough of the drama. I hate drama in my own life, but give me the Real World/Road Rules Challenge and I’m hooked. What is one thing that no one really knows about you? Isabella: That I am still technically married. We’ve been separated for 3 years, and still trying to get the divorce. What’s the best piece of advice you have been given? Isabella: “just be sure to realize you're dealing with men. Remember to think what would a man say or do in this situation, because me react and think very differently from women” from Ella Frank on writing my first m/m novel.

Dalton North POV:

This isn't in the book, Tess has written it just for the blog tour for us.
The throbbing in my head took my mind off the relentless pain in my leg. It had become my sort of twisted way of dealing with the constant agony. Get drunk enough for a skull-pounding hangover and it dulled everything else. I made a stupid-ass attempt to mask the uneven sounds of my footsteps, but the wooden hallway floor made it pretty damn laughable. I wasn’t even completely sure why it mattered, except that I knew the girl was standing just around the corner in the kitchen. I’d heard her silky laugh twice before I’d even left my bedroom. She stood in the kitchen helping with breakfast. Long auburn hair cascaded down the back of her sweater and I could see only the side of her face as she smiled sweetly at my dad. I’d been in a desert that was so hot just taking a breath hurt, a place where you learned not to trust even your own shadow, a place that could only be described as hell, and the only way to survive the nightmare of it all was to believe that somewhere else in another place, another time, another dimension angels existed. And now I’d come home and found one standing over the waffle iron in the kitchen. She looked up as I entered the room and that was all it took. I could not look away. Her thin fingers trembled almost imperceptibly as she tucked her hair behind her ear. I dragged a chair out from the table and sat down hard and watched her. She grew more and more flustered by my scrutiny but I couldn’t stop myself. She was a piece of heaven that had floated in through the darkness and I wanted to watch her. And, even though she nearly bit through her plump, highly kissable bottom lip with agitation . . . it seemed . . . that deep down she wanted me to watch her.

Book Excerpt:

I pulled the cover up to my chin like I’d done as a young girl when I was certain the closet monsters were coming out to get me, but I couldn’t relax enough to sleep. The house was quiet and dark again. I climbed back into my slippers. I peeked out into the hallway and everything was still. I tiptoed to the kitchen hoping a glass of milk would make me sleepy. I scuttled around the corner, and a gasp stuck in my throat. The refrigerator door was open, and the light pouring out illuminated his broad bare back, showing every line of hard muscle . . . and every small scar. There were many. His pajama pants hung low on his narrow hips, and I stood as quiet as a mouse for a guilty second and stared at his incredible physique. He still had not heard me, and I wondered if he was still lost in the agony of his bad dream. I tiptoed without a sound, but as I neared he seemed to sense me. He continued to stare into the refrigerator as if he expected something to jump out into his hands. “I’m sorry if I woke you.” “Please don’t apologize.” His shoulders tensed as I moved closer to him. Even in front of an open refrigerator, heat rolled off of him in searing waves. He shut the door but didn’t turn around. He leaned his forehead against the freezer door. I stepped closer. My hand trembled slightly as I reached up and touched him. The muscles of his back tightened and then relaxed. I trailed my fingers over the tiny scars that were splattered across his shoulders. The tiny ridges were hard, and I could feel the pain of each one in my fingertips. I stood on my toes and lowered my mouth to his skin. He sucked in a sharp breath as I pressed my lips to the scars. I kissed him over and over again wanting to absorb the pain that still clung to him physically and mentally. And he let me kiss him. His broad shoulders lifted and fell with each shallow breath as I ran my lips across his marred skin.
