Life is full of choices, good, bad, and the ones you can’t control. Raegan is perfect in every way, but what happens when life occurs? By day, Raegan is a typical high school student, but at three o’clock, her real work begins.
Varsity cheerleader, honor student, and proud granddaughter of the Lowery Farm, what happens when appearances are not what they seem?
Will Raegan be able to hold on to her life or will she be left with nothing? All of these thoughts change with one night, one song, one story, and one boy.[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKhawbDRDq0]

“Good evening, Mr. Lowery,” Emmett says calmly, but the expression on his face looks like he’s ready to about-face and run as I peek around the kitchen corner.
“Emmett, come in,” Grandaddy says flatly, and I try to resist the urge to giggle. They make their way into the foyer. “Rae will be out in just a minute, but I wanted to talk to you first.”
“Yes, sir,” Emmett replies.
“I expect you to take care of her, Emmett Bridges. She’s a good girl, and I love her more than life itself. If you hurt her, by God, I’ll make you wish you never stepped foot back into Pleasant Hill. Got it?”
“A’ight. Now, have her home by eleven.”
“Will do, Mr. Lowery.”
“Sunshine!” Grandaddy hollers. “Emmett’s here.”
On that cue, I walk into the foyer to meet him. When I round the corner, I see him standing there in a pair of jeans and a fitted polo, holding a bouquet of daisies. I feel as if the world stops spinning when I see him. A smile spreads across his face, but I can see he’s trying to refrain from a real reaction with Grandaddy standing there.
“You look gorgeous, Raegan,” Emmett states as his smile continues to grow.

Southern Perfection is my favorite book of 2014. I think it
will be pretty difficult for a book to upset this one as my favorite for the
year. My reasons for loving this book so much are personal. Without spoiling
anything from the book, from Chapter 40 until the end I felt as if the author
was writing about me. Anyone who can write a book that I feel so closely
connected to is a winner in my book.
Since my reasons for loving this book as much as I do are
personal, I am not going to say that this book is for everyone. If you love a
sweet NA read that has a period of ugly cry, then this is the book for you. If
you love books that take you on an emotional rollercoaster, then this is the
book for you. While to me this story started out as a sweet NA love story, by
the end it had become so much more. I loved that the heroine was a strong
female who instead of relying on everyone else to handle it all tried to fix
and take care of everything herself.
I loved Casey Peeler’s Full Circle series, so I knew that
Southern Perfection would not disappoint!
