Book Review: Lies Beneath the Surface by Silla Webb

Lies Beneath the Surface (Buried Secrets, #2)Lies Beneath the Surface by Silla Webb
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

** I received a complimentary copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. **

I loved Book 1, Covered in Coal, but I love this book more! After the cliff-hanger in the first book, I didn’t know how or how long it would take Silla Webb to answer all the questions I had. In this book, Carly Jo discovers the paternity of her baby as well as makes her choice romantically. She also struggles to keep her daddy’s secrets that she learned in Covered in Coal but in doing so she ends up hurting someone she loves. And as for Savannah’s secret, oh goodness Be prepared for her secret to be a heartbreaker. And let’s not forget Carly Jo and Savannah’s sleazy half - brother, Drew. How does he fit into all of this?

I loved that the story was told from multiple points-of-view: Carly Jo, Colton, Luke, and Savannah. I also loved that it was written in regional dialect. I, honestly, hate reading a story where everything is written “properly”. The regional dialect makes it so much easier to connect with the characters in my opinion. I absolutely cannot wait until Book 3 comes out (tapping foot impatiently).
