Book Review: Corgi Crisis by Molly Maple

Corgi CrisisCorgi Crisis by Molly Maple
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 2 in the Apple Blossom Bay series. I have not read the first one but it doesn’t seem to be an issue.

Our MC, Hannah, has an adorable little Pomeranian named Cricket. Hannah is new in Apple Blossom Bay and is looking for some sort of job in the town. She has an interview with the local grocery mart. Upon arriving, she finds a dead body, Hank, and a sweet little corgi, Honey. She agrees to look after the pup until Hank’s family decides what to do with it.

Hannah, who I believe should probably have applied at the police department because she seems to do a better job, goes on a search to find Hank’s killer. Was it one of his ungrateful kids who only wanted to fight over his boat? Was it his despicable neighbor? Was it the mysterious lawn care person who was seen entering Hank’s home? Could any of Apple Blossom Bay’s sweet residents have been the killer?

It was fun watching Hannah play amateur detective to find the killer. There were a few twists that led to the ultimate killer reveal.

This was an adorable read and reminded me of the books I would read in middle school. I am going back and reading the first book so I can be ready for the third!

Book Review: Summer Lovin' by Kameron Claire

Summer Lovin'Summer Lovin' by Kameron Claire
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my favorite book from Kameron Claire that I have read thus far!

The Montagues and Capulets? Romero and Julianna were a perfect re-telling of the classic. Chevy versus Ford? I can tell you that coming from a small Virginia town, your answer to that can 100% ruin friendships.

I loved these two characters together and this actually left me wanting more of them. I love these two and wish that there was more than the novella. Don’t get me wrong. The novella is complete as is; I just wanted more. Kind of like how you eat a piece of cake and it’s so good that you want more. Yeah, it was like that.

I enjoyed Romero’s “family” as well as Julianna’s cousin, Rosie. They were the perfect secondary characters. I also can’t wait to read Rosie’s book because she is a hoot!

Book Review: Hot CEO Summer by Kameron Claire

Hot CEO SummerHot CEO Summer by Kameron Claire
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hot CEO Summer is part of a multi-author Hot H.E.A. Summer series. This story also accompanies Kameron’s Hot Maui Nights.

Rivka is Sariah’s friend from work (Sariah is the female main from Hot Maui Nights). While on their company getaway to Maui, they each have their own flings with the men that they’re lusting after. This story takes us on Rivka’s weekend tryst.

Rivka is young and working for Braedon, her father’s fraternity brother. They have each had a crush on the other since they met when she was 19 years old.

Age gap romances don’t bother me as long as they are well written and believable. This one checked both of those boxes.

Book Review: Tempting the Teacher by Kameron Claire

Tempting the Teacher (Grayson Enterprises, #3)Tempting the Teacher by Kameron Claire
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 3 of the Grayson Enterprises Series. This book features Alisha Grayson and a secondary character from the second book - Dr. Stephen Lancaster. I was actually surprised that Alisha ended up with the professor, but their story made me a believer in them.

Alisha, wanting to be more than a pretty face, gets more responsibility from her brothers. Her first task is to plan an event for the company. Her partner in planning the event? Regan’s from book 2, Stephen Lancaster. I was afraid it would be revealed that he was crushing on Regan but instead he got his own romance with Alisha.

I really loved how these two were written. Of the 3 books, this one was my favorite. As for how quickly they can be read? I read all 3 within 3 days. They aren’t very long and good for a quick read.

Book Review: Enticing the Ex by Kameron Claire

Enticing the Ex (Grayson Enterprises, #2)Enticing the Ex by Kameron Claire
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 2 in the Grayson Enterprises Series. This book focuses on Derrick’s brother, Brett.

Brett Grayson and Regan were young loves and got married. She wanted a different life and he wanted to remain where he was. There was some miscommunication between the two (seems to be a trend with those Grayson boys) and they ended in divorce. Over a decade later, she returns to town to help her company make a deal with Brett’s company.

This is one of my favorite second chance stories. Brett and Regan had me convinced they were soulmates from the get go, even if they messed it all up with their immaturity before. I also loved a better glimpse into the Grayson family as a whole. I feel like those family relationships are important to the Graysons so I like that they were incorporated into the book.

Book Review: Bedding the Boss by Kameron Claire

Bedding the Boss (Grayson Enterprises, #1)Bedding the Boss by Kameron Claire
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jessica is a hard working over achiever who puts her career before all else. Derrick Grayson had been in that situation before and knew he now wanted both the career and a life. He is enthralled by his BIL’s boss, Jessica and goes undercover as an employee just to get close to her.

This is a great story about finding the balance between work and love. The two mains have some miscommunication for a while, but they eventually work on it. I love that Jessica is a strong female lead and not just another “needs saving” heroine.

I love Kameron’s stories because they give me a quick fix for romance, steam, and a good story. I’m never disappointed and can usually finish them quickly. I love this little family and can’t wait to learn more about Derrick’s family.

Book Review: You Weren't Mine Then by Lily Baines

You Weren't Mine ThenYou Weren't Mine Then by Lily Baines
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Finn and Anne/Jane’s story is my favorite of the Riviera View series. I absolutely loved their story. This is a story full of angst and slow burn. Finn captures your heart as the guy who does what is right. Jane is the sweet girl who always puts others before herself.

Finn and Jane became friends in high school when she tutored him. Years later they shared an incredible week together and believed they had a future together… until they didn’t. Finn’s recent past caught up with them and kept them apart for over a decade. But, does true love ever really die?

The two meet again. Jane now goes by her middle name, Anne and Finn decides to throw caution to the wind and try to win back his true love.

I enjoyed reading their story, past and present, from both points of view. The secondary characters really made the story. I enjoyed the tidbits from the previous books’ characters. Max, Finn’s son, is the sweetest kid ever. And don’t get me started on Avery. I wasn’t a fan of hers in the second book and I definitely couldn’t stand her in this one. However, I also want to know her story… and meet a man who can actually tame her.
