Book Review: Lucky Ducky by Kameron Claire
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is a cute, sweet little novella with a bit of spice. So, I guess you would call it sweet and spicy? Duchess aka Ducky is on a trip to Ireland and arrived late to meet with her tour group. Miles is an unemployed tour guide with the very same tour company. Duchess and Miles meet in a pub then later wake up in the same bed. Miles offers to show her Ireland better than the tour company would have. What will happen when the vacation is over and Duchess has to leave Ireland? Well, you’re going to have to read the book to find out. This was a great little novella that probably took about an hour or less to read (a great read while waiting at an appointment). It’s fast paced so expect things to happen on a fast timeline.

Book Review: The Billionaire's Auction by Bri Blackwood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I had never read any of the other books in this world so I walked into this story blind for the most part. I could still understand what was going on in the story without having read any previous ones. However, there are relationships between characters that began in other books and carried over to this one but you never get the whole backstory of them in this book.
That does not affect Ace and Harlow’s story at all. Harlow is a sweet girl who went into debt and needed to work that debt off as a bartender. When she ends up in a spat with another employee of her boss, he decides to auction her off to pay off her debt. Ace is a secretive man helping a friend uncover information on Harlow’s boss. When he sees her up for auction, he bids on her to save her from the certain horrible acts the other bidder wants to impose on her.
This was a good story and it was refreshing to see Ace have some humanity in him. Does the time the two spend together cause them to develop feelings for each other? This book does end in a cliffhanger setting up the next book. And I cannot wait to see how this development plays out.

My life was planned from the moment I was born. I am to marry for my family, to cement old alliances and create new ones. I know I have no say in who will be standing at the end of the aisle, but I didn’t expect my father to sell me to a monster. Kane Fraser is known for his cruelty and his coldness. In a few weeks’ time he will become my husband and will have complete control over my life.

The last thing I want is a wife, but my family needs me to do my duty and I will do anything to protect my siblings. Elena is nothing like I envisaged. She’s brash, loud and able to take care of herself. From the moment I put that ring on her finger, I knew this would be a match made in hell, but this is a situation neither of us can escape.
Until death do us part is just a saying, but when someone targets my wife I have to put our differences aside and protect her life. She is a Fraser and no one touches what’s mine.
