I think this is my new favorite book by Jessica Ingro! I love, love, love it! This isn’t the typical love story. There is a lot of hard, cold reality in this book. If you’re expecting the “knight in shining armor on the white horse whisking the heroine away” type of story, then look elsewhere.

Jayson “Jay” Santiago grew up in the projects and vowed to one day escape and make something of himself. Victoria “Tori” Watson grew up as the daughter of a wealthy oil tycoon. In a split second, Tori finds herself living in a life that she is not accustomed to. Forced to take a waitressing job to pay her bills, Tori crosses path with the “player of hip – hop”. Will the king of hip – hop and the oil tycoon’s princess be able to survive together or will forces all around them keep them apart.

Jay, oh Jay. What can I say about him? He’s the type of man that has you wanting to smack him senseless on one page and then running into his arms on the next. Tori is the perfect mixture of damsel in distress and fighter. Some of her decisions may not necessarily be the decisions I would make, but hey, she’s not me. She did what she thought was best for her. The two of them together are H-O-T! This is a must read for 2014!
