Book Review: Scoring off the Field by Naima Simone

Scoring off the Field (WAGS, #2)Scoring off the Field by Naima Simone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m a football fanatic so any book related to football automatically grabs my attention. Also, any friends-to-lovers story gets my attention. So, this book already had two checks on my list. This is book 2 of the WAGS series but can be read as a standalone (although I now want to read book 1). It was very easy for me to feel the emotions Tennyson (Tenny) was feeling by the way they were written. Is the whole “I’ve loved you my whole life but you don’t feel the same way” plot overused? Probably. But, each story with this plot is written differently. I just happened to be able to connect with Tenny in this book. There were times I wanted to shake some sense into Dominic (Dom) because it was very obvious he couldn’t see what was right in front of his face. But in the end, the book was written with some of the juvenile mentality that plagues professional athletes as well as the emotions someone who has an unrequited love for their best friend would feel. I can’t wait to meet more of the WAGS and their football player partners.
